My Approach

The SUZUKI PHILOSOPHY has been the method I was raised with and so is very much an internalized part of how I approach music education. Contrary to what some people think, music reading and theory are very much a part of the training from the beginning, creating a balanced and enriching musical education. Suzuki emphasizes learning by ear, just as children learn to speak, while seamlessly introducing reading and theory to help students develop both their listening skills and their ability to interpret music. This dual approach strengthens their overall musicianship and makes reading feel natural, not separate from their playing.

I ENCOURAGE daily listening to the Suzuki repertoire and other inspiring music, along with exposure to live performances. This helps students internalize phrasing, dynamics, and musical expression, while sparking their creativity and deepening their emotional connection to music.

In lessons, I EMPHASIZE beautiful tone, musical sensitivity, and technical precision, while keeping the atmosphere positive and encouraging.

Parental involvement is key to success. Parents attend lessons and support daily practice, creating a team-like environment. With consistent practice, gentle guidance, and family support, my goal is to inspire students to become confident, expressive musicians with a lifelong love of music.
